Today and in the future, an understanding of how communication platforms, messages, and technology function is a required skill set. Accessible education is essential for responsible engagement and digital inclusion.
Media Smart Citizens offers an innovative open-access media and tech literacy education platform. Together with our network of leading institutional partners, we produce digital guides, audio recordings, original videos, thought leadership, and workshops that inform and inspire. Our service model incorporates design thinking, explanatory journalism, and public pedagogy.
Through educational content, programming, and community-based efforts with public-serving institutions, MSC is expanding the capabilities of individuals to build a better digital world. Topics we address include freedom of speech, the power of storytelling, artificial intelligence (AI), everyday media and tech solutions, money in a digital world, Fast Media awareness, misinformation, and cybersecurity.
Media Smart Citizens believes that an empowered democracy is composed of media-literate citizens equipped to positively impact the world. As a result of the dedication of our collective network of partners to this work, our original resources and outreach efforts are expanding the availability and positive effects of media and information education.
