There is a lot of information out there about Media and Information Literacy (MIL.) It’s important to make sure that the information you are accessing is factual, truthful, and most importantly, focused on the importance of learning about Media and Information Literacy. Media Smart Citizens has partnered with a few organizations that work to promote MIL on a daily basis, and there are countless resources that are available to you. Here are some of the platforms that we recommend for MIL resources:

NAMLE: The National Association for Media Literacy Education (NAMLE) is an organization that MSC has worked with. Our Express Your Power project was selected for their 2021 conference promoting media literacy and social justice.

UNESCO: MSC is a proud member of the UNESCO MIL Alliance, which promotes international cooperation to ensure that all citizens have access to media and information competencies. The resources that UNESCO provides focus on the global importance of media literacy.

The Center for Media Literacy: CML provides us with valuable information and educational tools that can be used both in and out of the classroom. Their work is specifically designed to be used on a global scale.

Common Sense Education: Common Sense Education has created a platform for educators and anyone who is interested in learning about Media and Information Literacy. Their resources include apps and resources to learn new skills as well as information about key points in the media field.
